I've got two gigs coming up this week. I am playing at AS220 (good old AS220) on wednesday the 4th at 9pm with a four piece for the first time in a while. Ed on percussion, George on guitar and vocals, and Francis on upright bass. AS220 is at 115 Empire St. www.AS220.org

Also on the bill that night is local and excellent singer/songwriter Lori Amey, and Nell Bryden from Brooklyn.

The Killdevils (Jake Haller and I) are playing the Java Hut this friday night (feb 6th), the Worcester stand-by. We go on at 9:30, play till midnight. See below for directions.

Oh, the first post script. If you are driving North Main St on Wednesday afternoon you might want to stop in to Whole Foods (where Staples and McDonalds and all that other crap is). Mary Bue a local songwriter and pianist will be playing in the front corner of the store fron 5 to 8.

p.s. #2 Directions to the Java Hut 1073 Main St. Worcester:

• RT 146 NORTH to MASSPIKE WEST I-90
• MASSPIKE WEST I-90 one exit to EXIT 10 - AUBURN (about 5 minutes)
• After tolls (25 cents), take RT 290 EAST
• RT 290 EAST to EXIT 11 - COLLEGE SQUARE, Worcester (about 5 minutes)
• At bottom of ramp (ramp dumps you onto one-way section of Southbridge St) go STRAIGHT ONTO SOUTHBRIDGE ST to 2ND LIGHT (1st light is at Holy Cross College)
• Turn LEFT at light onto CAMBRIDGE ST (St Matthew's Church on Left)
• Stay on Cambridge St to WEBSTER SQUARE LIGHT (Webster House Restaurant on left) (about 5 minutes)
• Go STRAIGHT at the LIGHT - becomes MAIN STREET WEST
• ALMOST IMMEDIATELY you will see JAVA HUT on the LEFT - next to Subway Sandwich Shop
• Go PAST THE SUBWAY SHOP and turn LEFT to circle around back for parking. Do not park in the Subway parking lot, as I am told they will have you towed.

If you get lost, ask someone for directions to Webster Square, South Main Street, or Route 290 -- at least one of these should be pretty close almost anywhere in Worcester.
